Mike Beckley MA, FCCA – Healthlogistics Director

Mike’s career has combined extensive financial background at all levels of business with senior management experience in information systems within the healthcare sector.  He was formerly a Vice President of Information Management for Johnson & Johnson, where he was responsible for major international systems projects including Oracle Financials and JD Edwards. Previously his career with Amersham International, Kodak Clinical Diagnostics and Johnson & Johnson included both Finance and IT Director positions. In 2002 he was commissioned to produce a report into the financial benefits available to Trusts from the introduction of e-procurement, and in 2003 he co-founded Healthlogistics together with Peter Elwin. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

 

Peter Elwin BA (Hons), FCIT, FILT, ISCPM, Dip M - Director

Director with wide-ranging experience of e-commerce and logistics in the healthcare industry. Previously established and managed the UK operation of Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX), the internet joint venture created by global manufacturing companies. Senior level hands-on experience in e-commerce, logistics and operations. Managing Consultant at PA Consulting specialising in the application of e-commerce to healthcare supply chains. Previously Logistics Director for Kodak Clinical Diagnostics and Operations Director for eLabsEurope and Celsis International. Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport. Qualified in Project Management for Information Systems.

 

Steve Grundy BSc, PhD – Healthlogistics Technical Director

Steve has been working with Healthlogistics as Technical Director since 2003. He is a former Director of Enterprise Development for Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics (a Johnson & Johnson Company), with responsibility for Business Development, Quality Assurance and Information Management functions. His experience in the Medical Device Industry for over 20 years encompasses a wide range of practical skills including project management of major software and IT system development projects to meet FDA GMP regulations, internet and intranet development, document management expertise, software and system audits and risk analysis experience, quality assurance management and immunoassay development. Steve holds a Ph.D. in tropical disease research and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biochemistry.

 

Maarten Koens, ing. – Healthlogistics Catalogue Management Expert Consultant

Maarten is an acknowledged European expert on catalogue data management and has been working with Healthlogistics since 2003. He has extensive experience in the managing of national and international IT-projects in purchasing and logistics with a focus on e-trading in B2B sectors including healthcare, medical and pharmaceutical. This includes experience as a marketing manager for an e-Procurement service for Dutch healthcare and as the e-Catalogue Manager for GHX Europe. Previously he was a product manager working for the major supplier of hospital information systems in the Netherlands. His credential include initiation of bar code & EDI projects optimising the supply chain between hospitals and suppliers and involvement in many international standardisation projects on EDI & bar coding. He is an experienced speaker and trainer for e-Procurement seminars and workshops and an acknowledged author in the Dutch press on purchasing & logistics. He holds a degree in Information Technology Engineering and is a member of the Dutch professional purchasing association NEVI.
