e-benefit graphs

NHS e-benefit graphs

The introduction of e-procurement can provide a quantifiable benefit of 7% of total non-pay spend in a typical Trust. The following graphs give you as a Supplies Manager an indication of this excellent level of benefit and Return on Investment:

  • Graph 1 shows that for an average Trust with £30m total supplies expenditure, year-on-year savings resulting from a five year process improvement programme range from £300K in Year 1 to £2m in year 5.
  • Graph 2 shows how the cost per order falls from £25 with a paper-based system to £2 for an approach that combines optimal processes with GHX.

  • Graph 3 below shows that for the number of procurement processes can fall from 29 to 10, whilst the number of steps can reduce from 85 to 20
  • Graph 4 below shows that for the same Trust, the cumulative net cash flow resulting from such a programme of activity improvement will be in excess of £6m by year 5.

These graphs are indicative for an average NHS Trust. We shall be pleased to provide individually tailored cost-benefit modelling and graphs as a part of our consultancy and process change work.
