HL-Cat Gold Catalogue Development and Maintenance for suppliers
In December 2004 NHS
PASA issued a statement strongly recommending to NHS Trusts the use of the
e-Catalogue data standards that had been issued in July 2004.
These standards had been defined for PASA by Healthlogistics.co.uk and
they continue to be the defined standard for electronic catalogue data.
They can be downloaded from the NHS PASA web site.
HL-Cat Gold is the means by which suppliers can work with Healthlogistics
to bring their data up to the level of compliance with the NHS e-Catalogue
Data Standard, and then maintain it at that level. In fact suppliers
complying with the Style Guide of HL-Cat Gold will automatically exceed
this level.
The optimum first step in membership of HL-Cat Gold is to attend an
in-house or external workshop; this will go into considerable detail on
the process for data improvement and the rules and formats that will
apply. Once suppliers have then joined the service, they will begin the
process of data improvement using our Style Guide. Throughout the process
they will receive the constant support of our Catalogue Manager Maarten
Koens, and the process will typically take three iterations of data
improvement.
