  • The need for high-quality catalogues and consistent data
  • The requirement for synchronicity of electronic purchase order data between buyer and supplier
  • The Healthlogistics Style Guide and its mandatory, recommended and optional fields
  • The relationship of the HL Style Guide to that of PASA standards recommended in January 2005 by its Chief Executive Duncan Eaton
  • The adoption of the EAN.UCC bar code standard announced in October 2004 by PASA
  • International coding & classification standards and why these are important
  • The HL-Cat Gold process: initial data provision, analysis, cleansing and standardisation, matching with Trust master files, use in requisitioning and ordering.

Attendees are encouraged to participate fully in workshop discussions.

Deliverables

By the end of each workshop participants will:

  • Have an appreciation of the current status of e-procurement in the NHS
  • understand the significance of high quality and synchronous catalogue data for NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers and suppliers
  • have the information required to go through the HL-CCM set up process and bring their company’s catalogue up to the level required by providers and the Healthlogistics Style Guide
  • have an understanding of the HL-Cat Hybris service.

Venue, format

All external workshops will be held from 9.45am for 10.00am – 4.00pm at the beautiful: www.billesleymanor.co.uk near Stratford-upon-Avon. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.

These workshops are primarily intended for suppliers - but NHS Trusts and private healthcare providers are very welcome to attend, and Trust supplies managers will attend and present from time to time.

The dress code is smart casual.

In-house workshops are held at the supplier’s premises and offer the benefit of being tailored to the precise needs of each supplier’s products, customers, status of e-procurement and objectives.
